AUVERE GOLDEN GIRL

PROFILE: NICOLE NEUMANN

What does it take to be a great model? Perfect features? An amazing runway swagger? Or perhaps it’s merely the ability to make anything look fabulous. The answer is more complicated than any one thing, and more often than not, what makes a model a truly great one is a combination of inner and outer beauty.

We’re lucky to call New York City home, which could arguably be considered model central. That means we get to meet lots and lots of beautiful girls when we’re preparing for a photoshoot. And while we love a great face, we find intelligence, depth, and a strong personality even more appealing. Believe it or not, those characteristics resonate on camera. Every iconic model has them in spades; think Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, Kate Moss, Iman, Karlie Kloss, and Naomi Campbell, to name a few.

When we met Nicole, we knew almost instantly that she would be a fantastic choice for our brand video, The Power of Gold. It wasn’t just her striking beauty that drew us in. Her intense gaze and cool demeanor intrigued us. As we worked with Nicole throughout the day, we were blown away by her quiet power on camera as she expressed what it is to be an Auvere woman: strong, confident, and independent. She showed us in real-time that the Auvere woman doesn’t have to utter a single word or smile for anyone other than herself. The ability to capture the essence of a brand and reflect that with a look, a feeling, and a moment, no matter how fleeting, and look beautiful while doing just that, is precisely what makes a model, a great model. Please meet Auvere’s latest golden girl, Nicole Neumann.

A: WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
N: I was born in England, but my parents are Argentinian.

A: WHAT IS YOUR JOB?
N: I work as a model, but I’d love to go into photography and graphic design after my career. I’m also a huge art lover. Frances Bacon is one of my favorite artists. I think it stems from the fact that in most of his paintings he incorporates considerable elements of both mystery and horror. I love that he leaves some space for personal interpretation, yet is also quite strong with his message.

A: YOU GAVE US SOME KILLER ATTITUDE IN THE AUVERE VIDEO. HOW DID YOU DECIDE ON YOUR VIBE FOR THE SHOOT?
N: Personally, I always treat video work as acting. I always try to think of who my character is. In this case, after meeting Gina Love, the designer of the brand and seeing the jewelry, I definitely felt that my character had to be a strong independent woman who knew how to carry herself.

A: WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT BEING A MODEL?
N: The most significant aspect that I love about modeling for me is the people I get to meet. I’m very family and friends-oriented, so every once in a while on set, I work with people that become life-long friends.

A: HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE & HOW DO YOU ACCESSORIZE?
N: Chic and casual is definitely what I’d think people would say my style is, or at least I hope it comes across like that. I think it really reflects my personality, which is reserved but super easy to get on with. I love wearing long coats, as it makes me feel like a femme fatale and adds to my confidence. I really love western boots too.

A: DO YOU HAVE GO-TO JEWELRY PIECES THAT YOU WEAR EVERY DAY?
N: Yes, I do…my ex gifted me my first expensive pieces. I wear them nearly every day because they really reflect my rock n’ roll attitude. I’m always wearing a ring, bracelet, or sometimes just a necklace.

A: DO YOU HAVE ANY HEIRLOOM JEWELRY THAT WAS GIVEN TO YOU BY YOUR FAMILY?
N: Unfortunately, I do not have any yet. But because of this, I am planning on investing in my first Rolex. I want to pass it down to my future children one day. I think it’s such a great investment piece. We come into this world and time is all we have. Owning a watch that personally belongs to you feels as though you’re ‘owning your time,’ and in a way, owning your destiny.

A: HOW OLD WERE YOU WHEN YOU FIRST TOOK AN INTEREST IN JEWELRY & FASHION?
N: To be frank, I wasn’t a huge jewelry fan until two years ago. It was the fact that jewelry can be quite a personal experience that made me change my mind about it. I’m aware it’s just a material possession, but I’m a sucker for sentimental pieces!

A: HOW DID YOU FEEL WEARING AUVERE GOLD JEWELRY AT THE SHOOT?
N: I felt confident. There were a lot of pieces that would look so beautiful with just a classic white shirt, jeans and nice loafers. I think wearing the pieces with simple outfits like this gave me the ‘femme fatale’ feeling. Each piece was so delicate, and the fact that they were gold pieces gave off that classy, expensive vibe. An excellent example of people who pull that off are the Olsen sisters – I love them.

A: WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE AUVERE JEWELRY FROM THE SHOOT?
N: I was a HUGE fan of every earring on set!
