Ring Sizing

We offer two ways for you to determine your ring size. Remember to measure your fingers at the end of the day when they’re at their largest. Note that cold weather can shrink your fingers up to half a size, so make sure they’re warm. Finally, alcohol and salt can make your fingers swell, so we suggest that you refrain from measuring them after cocktails and appetizers.

1. Measure an Existing Ring

  • Using a ring you already own that fits well, measure the inside diameter of the ring with a ruler in millimeters.
  • Note down the measurement and match it to the chart below.
  • If your size falls in-between two sizes we suggest buying the larger size.
  • Keep in mind that wider rings fit more snugly than narrow rings. It is important that the ring you measure is similar in width to the ring you plan to purchase to ensure an accurate fit.

2. Measure Your Finger

  • Wrap a thin strip of paper around your finger where you’d like your ring to be.
  • To find your best fit, make sure that the paper is pulled snugly around your finger.
  • Mark the spot where the two ends of the paper meet and measure the distance with a ruler in millimeters.
  • Use the chart below to determine your ring size.
  • If your knuckles are larger than the base of your finger, repeat the steps above to measure your knuckle size as well. If your knuckle measurement is greater than your initial finger measurement, use the knuckle size as your correct ring size.

Description

The Capture Ring closes around the finger the way a hand closes around something worth keeping. A single band of 18 karat gold rises and splits into two tapering arms that stop just short of meeting. That gap is the point. Nothing locks shut. The two arms angle toward one another across a thin band of space, and the polished gold reflects light along each curve and into the gap between them.     The higher the gold karat, the deeper the color and the richer the piece. That is why we work in high karat gold: 18 karat at 75 percent gold, 20 karat at 83.3 percent, 22 karat at 91.7 percent, and pure 24 karat. The difference is not subtle. Our pieces are solid gold, never plated and never vermeil. By comparison, 14 karat is 58.3 percent gold and 10 karat is 41.7 percent. Whatever makes up the difference is not gold.
