Hammered Finish

While a hammered finish looks thoroughly modern, the technique behind it has been practiced on gold for thousands of years. Each piece is hammered by hand: Auvere's goldsmiths work the surface on an anvil, choosing among different hammers for the pattern they want, so the gold catches the light from every angle. It moves easily from day to evening. Because high karat gold is soft, the hammered texture earns its keep: the intentional divots disguise the small dings and dents that come with daily wear.
