The Story of Auvere
GINA & STEVEN

When Steven met Gina, she was a New York City-based real estate lawyer with a little secret. On their first date, Steven learned that unbeknownst to most, she was doing much more than practicing law. Ever since she was a child, Gina had been nursing a love for art, design and photography. While working as an attorney offered some security and certain esoteric challenges, big firm life was at once too much and not enough. Too much sacrifice. Not enough soul.
After years spent recording the details of her career in six-minute increments, Gina could no longer ignore her overwhelming desire for a creative life. While working full time at one of the biggest firms in the city, she managed to hone her design skills during nights, weekends and vacation time spent in classes at Parsons New School.
Initially, Gina founded a fine leather goods brand. During their first date, she told Steven that in her limited spare time, she also practiced street photography, and had started a [then] nascent art collection. Steven was intrigued. At a minimum, he knew she possessed superb time-management skills!
SOMETHING NEW
Steven was no stranger to changing careers. After spending a couple of years practicing real estate law, and over two decades on Wall Street, he had also sought something new. In response to his desire to be his own boss, Steven co-founded a precious metals investment platform — an endeavor that exposed him to the unmatched beauty and potent investment power of physical gold.
Eighteen months into their relationship, Gina and Steven decided to create a jewelry brand. This company would represent a merger of their respective talents. Auvere tapped into Steven’s passion for entrepreneurship. For Gina, nothing could be more exciting than designing modern high karat gold jewelry for gold lovers like herself.
Within months of hatching their plan, Gina retired from the practice of law and, with Steven, commenced work on their special project. They launched Auvere in the fall of 2017.
WHAT'S IN A NAME
We think our name says a lot about who we are and what we do. Auvere (pronounced Oh-Vair) derives from the Italian word “avere,” which means “to have, to own, to hold, to wear and to receive.” Our name also combines AU, the symbol of gold, with the Latin word “vere,” which means true. True Gold. To be owned, held, worn, given and received.
Over the years, we have expanded our collections to offer diamond, colored gemstone and solid sterling silver jewelry. Moreover, our future plans include working with other precious metals, including platinum. While we are excited about our growth and potential as a jewelry brand, our story and our foundation starts with, and rests firmly on, AU and truth.
